How Kave Home outdoor sofas are made
At Kave Home, we design outdoor sofas with life outdoors in mind. Pieces that combine comfort, durability and style, created to meet the real needs of every home and to shape thoughtfully designed garden sofas. We carefully select materials that can withstand outdoor conditions without compromising on aesthetics or comfort. Wood, metal, rope and synthetic rattan play a key role in these collections, providing stability and long-lasting performance in both modular outdoor sofas and more compact configurations.
Woods such as teak and acacia are high-performance choices, valued for their natural resistance outdoors, even in humid environments or under changing temperatures. Acacia, thanks to its durability and water resistance, tolerates moisture well and maintains its stability in demanding conditions, making it a common choice for wooden outdoor sofas. To preserve its properties, we recommend applying Sterina Wood Protector at least once a year. For more information on how to care for your outdoor sofa, consult our materials guide and the technical specifications of each product.
The second most widely used material in our garden sofas is metal. Its lightness and stability make it a reliable and easy-to-maintain option. We work with aluminium, chosen for its strength and light weight, as well as galvanised steel, which offers durability against oxidation, corrosion and UV exposure. Some collections also incorporate synthetic rattan, a stable and highly resistant alternative. This solid structure allows us to create metal outdoor sofas, rattan outdoor sofas and combinations with wood or rope that integrate naturally into terraces, gardens or porches. We also offer outdoor sofas and tables made from aluminium with a wood-effect finish, such as the Mirtia and Sirte collections, which preserve the warm, natural look of wood while combining aesthetics and durability.
We also pay special attention to fabrics, which must support outdoor living without losing colour or comfort. Most outdoor sofas in our catalogue feature outdoor fabrics with specific treatments and cushions designed to withstand occasional rain and sun exposure. To ensure long-term durability, many of our sofa cushions incorporate specific features such as:
- Water-repellent treatment, which helps repel moisture and promotes faster drying.
- UV protection, which helps maintain colour even with prolonged sun exposure.
- Removable covers, making regular cleaning easier.
- Reticulated foam, allowing water to pass through without being retained inside.
- Anti-humidity vents, which improve ventilation and prevent persistent moisture.
The combination of materials, treatments and technical details allows us to create fabric outdoor sofas that maintain their appearance and comfort over time. Each piece is designed so you can enjoy the outdoors with the reassurance that shape, colour and structure remain balanced and authentic, whether in modular outdoor sofas or designer garden sofa compositions, with minimal maintenance.

Outdoor sofas that bring the Mediterranean to your terrace
At Kave Home, we design our outdoor sofas through a Mediterranean lens — one that understands the outdoors as a place to pause, unwind and share. Collections such as Ambra, crafted from solid acacia wood with a serene design, or Turqueta, created by Made Studio and made from FSC™ 100% teak, reflect how we translate this inspiration into pieces that engage with light, greenery and natural materials without overpowering them. Both embody the essence of our Mediterranean-style outdoor sofas: honest forms, warm materials and an aesthetic that complements rather than distracts.
Their low profiles create a closer connection with the surroundings, while wide designs and generous proportions invite effortless relaxation. Voluminous cushions, conceived to foster a naturally relaxed atmosphere, transform terraces and gardens into spaces designed to linger — perfect for an authentic garden chill-out setting.
The colour palette moves through neutral tones, soft sands and muted terracottas, evoking the coastline, sun-warmed earth and the glow of late afternoon light. This combination allows each sofa to blend harmoniously into its outdoor setting — whether by the sea, surrounded by Mediterranean greenery or on an urban patio seeking calm — reinforcing the laid-back character of our outdoor lounge sofas.
We design outdoor lounge sofas that turn open-air spaces into places where time slows down. Pieces that invite you to sit, unwind and reconnect with an outdoor setting that breathes the Mediterranean in every detail.

Garden sofas for small terraces
At Kave Home, we design outdoor sofas that adapt to different types of terraces, patios and gardens — from spacious layouts to more compact settings where space is limited. We understand that the way you live outdoors changes depending on the space available, which is why we work with modular outdoor sofas that allow you to create tailored compositions while maintaining visual calm and clean, simple lines.
For terraces that require flexibility, modular outdoor sofas such as those in the Viridis collection allow you to configure a variety of layouts, from garden corner sofas to generous 3+2 arrangements with complete freedom. Their solid acacia wood modules, combined with removable cushions designed for outdoor use, can be easily rearranged and adapted to suit each moment. Whether you want to create a quiet corner to relax, add extra seating when hosting guests or reorganise the layout with the changing seasons, our modular outdoor sofas offer a practical and serene solution designed for everyday outdoor living.
For slightly larger gardens where space still needs to be used thoughtfully, collections such as Portitxol and Ambar expand the possibilities. Their solid teak or acacia wood modules allow for wide, enveloping compositions — from garden corner sofas to modular configurations conceived as sofas for large terraces that complement the architecture of the outdoor space. Their strong horizontal lines and the warmth of teak create a sense of wellbeing that invites you to linger, read or share unhurried moments. Here, the space becomes an open-air living room where every element finds its place.
Other collections, such as Sacaleta, offer versatile solutions for those seeking adaptable sofas with strong visual presence. Sacaleta combines FSC™-certified eucalyptus with geometric forms that integrate naturally into medium-sized spaces, while the Viridis set features an FSC™-certified acacia wood modular system treated for durability, with aluminium backrests and removable, machine-washable cushions. Both allow you to reorganise the layout according to your needs: two independent armchairs, a large sofa, a reading corner or a social setting for gathering — whether in compact outdoor sofas or configurations suited to larger terraces.
With our outdoor sofas and sets, you can create a space at your own pace, where functionality and design coexist effortlessly. Whether it’s a spacious balcony, a Mediterranean courtyard or an urban terrace, we want you to find a sofa that truly adapts to you.

How to clean and maintain your outdoor sofa
Outdoor sofas are designed to accompany you for years, even when exposed to sun, humidity and seasonal changes. Thanks to their materials and protective treatments, many models are UV-resistant outdoor sofas and outdoor sofas designed to withstand occasional rain. With simple, consistent maintenance, you can preserve their appearance, reinforce their durability and enjoy their comfort throughout the year. This guide outlines the essential steps to clean outdoor sofas and to protect and maintain wooden, steel and outdoor fabric sofas using the appropriate products for each material.
Sofas made from solid wood, such as teak, eucalyptus or acacia, require regular care to maintain their colour and natural resistance to moisture and sunlight. Knowing how to care for outdoor wood is key to extending the lifespan of your sofa and preserving its natural tone. Repeat this process once a year to keep your outdoor sofas in optimal condition:
- Prepare the area: Wear gloves and protective eyewear, and cover the floor before applying any cleaning or protective products.
- Clean the wooden surface with Sterina Wood Cleaner: Shake well, apply with a soft cloth or sponge and leave to act for 3 minutes. Always rub in the direction of the grain and rinse with water. Allow to dry completely. The wood must be 100% dry, smooth and free from residue before applying the protector — a fundamental step when cleaning wooden outdoor sofas.
- Protect the wood: For general wood types, use Sterina Wood Protector. For teak, use Sterina Teak Protector, which nourishes, protects and helps maintain its colour. Apply two thin coats, allowing them to dry between applications, to reinforce resistance against sun and rain.
Sofas with galvanised or treated steel frames do not require a complex cleaning process. Their resistance to corrosion and UV rays makes them easy to maintain and suitable for demanding outdoor environments. Even so, it is important to protect them properly during colder or rainy months to preserve their appearance and functionality. For maintenance:
- Clean with water and mild soap when necessary.
- Dry thoroughly to prevent marks.
- Avoid abrasive products or harsh scouring pads.
- Use Iria protective covers during winter or rainy periods. Iria covers are designed to protect against sunlight, rain and snow, helping to maintain outdoor sofas throughout the year. Their waterproof fabric, heat-sealed seams and built-in ventilation system help prevent moisture build-up.
Outdoor sofas typically feature 100% outdoor fabrics that are water-repellent, UV-resistant and fitted with removable covers to simplify cleaning and maintenance. Recommended care for cushions:
- Use Sterina Fabric Cleaner to remove stains. Allow cushions to dry completely before using them again.
- Once clean and dry, apply Sterina Fabric Protector. This product creates an invisible barrier against moisture and sun-related wear. One container can treat up to 4 m² of fabric, helping maintain UV-resistant outdoor sofas.
- In case of heavy rain: Store the cushions in a dry space. Thanks to reticulated foam in some models, water does not remain trapped inside, but complete drying is essential to preserve your outdoor sofas.
- In winter: Always remove the cushions and store them indoors. Cover the sofa with an Iria cover to protect its structure and support the long-term care of your outdoor sofas.
