Ceramic Sequences II

Concept

Andrea Santamarina fuses two traditions in this artistic collection: Mediterranean painting on ceramics and the Japanese Ukiyo-e style ("pictures of the floating world"), referencing the erotic scenes created by Hishikawa Moronobu in the 17th century. Each plate is part of an imaginary animation sequence and, through beauty, reclaims freedom of expression. The collection invites us to reflect on a topic inseparable from humanity, always present in the history of art, and suggests that, far from hiding it, it should be a space for exploration and open dialogue.
