The Knight presents an abstract interpretation of a Medieval knight, where geometric shapes and volumes suggest his presence. Despite its abstract approach, some figurative details, such as the spurs, anchor the composition in Medieval imagery, with a subtle nod to its origins.

Carmen Martini explores the interaction between matter, form and colour. After almost two decades in the United States, she now divides her time between there and Spain, creating works marked by experimentation with materials such as jute and natural linen. Her creative process embraces imperfection, including the irregularities of the medium as an essential part of the composition. In her paintings, colour plays a fundamental role, alternating between vibrant palettes and neutral tones to generate a visual harmony full of movement and texture.
