@inlau’s indoor terrace

Can you imagine a space in the middle of the city where you can connect with nature? Architect Laura Montero (Inlau ArchDesign) and her colleague Àfrica Sabé have made it a reality.

The project

Laura Montero’s (@inlau) studio Inlau ArchDesign and her colleague have turned a listed building in the heart of Granollers into a home designed so that the whole family can comfortably enjoy the city. It’s very important for them to make the most of the outside space, since the family is used to living in a rural environment. Moving to the city meant that they had to introduce a space surrounded by nature into the home. The building’s restrictions made this requirement a huge challenge for the project. The result? A huge challenge

The aim was to totally transform the space, working with materials and finishing touches as if it were a 100% outdoor space, although it’s really an indoor space which can be closed off. The entire day area opens onto this terrace which acts as a transition area between the kitchen and the living room and the real outdoor area which opens onto a lively square.

Choices

The furniture and decoration chosen for this space is characterised by neutral and natural tones. On the terrace, the protagonist is the Tucson corner sofa which is made with eucalyptus wood and UV-resistant leather. To add even more personality to the space, they decided to add the Inka coffee table.

Green and more green… this was a must-have colour. Hanging plants and plants on the walls and in pots were a great idea in order to enjoy nature in the city. The round natural jute rug and the Saht pouffe provide the finishing touch they were looking for. It’s without a doubt the perfect place to relax and enjoy time with family and friends.
